ROMARIO WILLIAMS MAKES FIRST MLS CAREER START
Romario Williams recorded his first MLS and Crew SC start in Wednesday's road contest against New York City FC (August 21). Williams played 60 minutes, had two shots (one shot on goal) and attempted seven passes. Since joining Crew SC in July of this year, Williams has made six regular-season appearances (one start) and recording one goal. In all, Williams has made 27 appearances (one start) in regular-season action since joining MLS in 2015, scoring two goals.
HAMILTON MAKES CREW SC DEBUT
Jordan Hamilton made his Crew SC regular-season debut during Wednesday's contest against New York City FC (August 21), coming into the match for Romario Williams in the 60th minute. Hamilton finished the night with 13 touches, attempting nine passes and registering a passing percentage of 100. Prior to joining Crew SC on July 11, 2019, Hamilton played for Toronto FC from 2014-2019. In all, Hamilton has made 54 MLS regular-season appearances (29 starts) while scoring 11 goals and notching three assists.
SANTOS SCORES NINTH GOAL OF 2019
Midfielder Pedro Santos registered his ninth goal of the 2019 regular season in last Saturday's home match against Toronto
FC (August 17). Santos’ goal came in the 48th minute, when he connected with the back of the net after receiving a ball over the top from Wil Trapp. In addition to his strike, Santos had four shots (one shot on target) while creating two goal-scoring chances. Santos' nine goals in League play are a single-season career-high for the midfielder, whose previous largest goal-scoring output was seven tallies, which he scored during the 2015-2016 Liga NOS campaign. In 2019, Santos has made 27 regular-season appearances (24 starts), while providing three assists (three game-winning assists) to go with his nine goals (two game-winning goals).
SANTOS LEADS CREW SC IN MINUTES PLAYED
Pedro Santos, who came into Wednesday's match as a substitute for Eduardo Sosa in the 46th minute, has played more minutes for Crew SC than any other player thus far in the 2019 regular season. Through 27 regular-season appearances (24 starts), Santos has played 2,224 minutes in 2019. Since joining Crew SC in 2017, Santos has made 66 regular-season appearances (61 starts) scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists.
