2016 (Columbus): Has made one appearance at centerback in his first season with Crew SC while on loan from Real Betis ... was in the matchday 18 for each of the first four Black & Gold contests in 2016 through the match at FC Dallas (April 2) ... returned to the matchday 18 against New York City FC (April 16), making his club debut with a second-half substitute appearance.

 

2014-15 (El Gouna FC/Real Betis): Tarek remained with El Gouna, where he made a career-best 30 appearances. Following the campaign, he signed with Spanish side Real Betis.

 

2013-14 (El Gouna FC): After signing for El Gouna FC in the Egyptian Premier League, Tarek made 15 appearances for the club. He made his debut on January 9, 2014 against Smouha.

 

2012-13 (VfL Wolfsburg II): Tarek made 20 appearances for VfL Wolfsburg II in the Regionalliga Nord, scoring one goal, on August 18, 2012 against BV Cloppenburg. He added two assists on the campaign.

 

2011-12 (SC Freiburg II): Tarek joined SC Freiburg, where he made 15 appearances for the club’s reserve side in the Regionalliga Süd. He scored the game-winning goal in the 2011 Lev Yashin Cup final, capping off the international tournament of Under-21 sides.

 

2010-11 (1. FC Magdeburg II): In Germany, Tarek made 22 appearances for 1. FC Magdeburg’s Under-19 squad, scoring six goals and adding five assists. He recorded a one-goal, three-assist game on May 15, 2011 against Zehlendorf U-19. He made an additional two appearances for 1. FC Magdeburg II.

The son of Tarek and Wafaa, Amro has two brothers (Mohammed and Basel) and a younger sister (Farah). Tarek was born in Los Angeles and lived there for one year before moving to Asyut, Egypt. He holds dual citizenship for both the United States and Egypt. He speaks Arabic, English, German and a little bit of Spanish. He enjoys reading books and watching movies in his spare time as well as playing video games. The Harry Potter novels are among his favorite books. Musically, he is a fan of Chris Brown and Jason Derulo, but says that he mainly listens to Egyptian music. His favorite food is grilled chicken. His favorite all-time players are Mido and Sergio Ramos. His favorite soccer memory is winning the Lev Yashin Cup in 2011 and scoring in the final. As he has never visited the city before, he is looking forward to visiting New York in America.
