On July 16, 2016, Columbus Crew SC played to a 1-1 draw against D.C. United at MAPFRE Stadium. Ola Kamara scored his ninth goal of the season in the draw, with assists from Harrison Afful and Tony Tchani.
COLUMBUS HEADS TO RFK STADIUM
All-time, Crew SC is 26-26-11 against D.C. United, including a total record of 9-19-4 on the road against the Black-and-Red. However, under Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter, Crew SC is 2-1-1 in Washington D.C., including a win in its last visit to RFK Stadium on September 19, 2015. Berhalter's first match as the Black & Gold boss came at RFK Stadium, a 3-0 victory over D.C. United on March 8, 2014. This match represents Crew SC's lone visit to Washington, D.C. during the 2016 regular season.
CREW SC CONTINUES 7-MATCH STRETCH VS. EASTERN CONFERENCE
This match is the third of seven consecutive matches for Crew SC against Eastern Conference opponents. This stretch will conclude the 2016 Major League Soccer regular season for Columbus. Following this match, the Black & Gold will take on the Chicago Fire in back-to-back contests. Then, Crew SC travels to face the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena before finishing the regular season on October 23 at Yankee Stadium against New York City FC.
KAMARA NOTCHES 14TH, 15TH GOALS

In Crew SC's last match, against the Revolution on Sunday, September 25, forward Ola Kamara notched his 14th and 15th goals of the 2016 MLS regular season as part of a 2-0 win over New England. It was Kamara's second consecutive brace following his two-goal performance on September 17 at Orlando. Additionally, it was Kamara's fourth multi-goal effort of the 2016 campaign.
KAMARA BECOMES SIXTH PLAYER IN CREW SC HISTORY WITH 15-GOAL CAMPAIGN
By recording 15 goals in the 2016 regular season, Crew SC forward Ola Kamara has achieved a feat previously accomplished by just five other players in Black & Gold history. The following players have had individual seasons by Black & Gold players with 15 or more goals: Stern John (26 in 1998), Kei Kamara (22 in 2015), Stern John (18 in 1999), Brian McBride (17 in 1996), Jeff Cunningham (16 in 2002), Ola Kamara (15 in 2016) and Dante Washington (15 in 2000).
BLACK & GOLD TIE SINGLE-SEASON SELLOUTS RECORD AT MAPFRE STADIUM
Sunday's match attendance of 20,012 represented the h sellout of the 2016 regular season at MAPFRE Stadium, tying an all-time club record for regular-season sellouts at MAPFRE Stadium previously set in each of the 2014 and 2015 campaigns. Columbus has 27 all-time regular-season sellouts at MAPFRE Stadium, with 15 coming in the last three seasons combined. Crew SC can break its all-time club record for single-season home sellouts at MAPFRE Stadium with the final home regular-season contest this Saturday, October 1 against the Chicago Fire.
FINLAY NEARING 30-30 STATUS
With 29 career regular-season goals and 28 career regular-season assists, Crew SC midfielder Ethan Finlay is one goal and two assists shy of reaching "30-30" status for his MLS career. Finlay would become just the fifth player in Crew SC history to reach that total for the club. Should he reach the milestone, he would join Brian McBride (62 goals, 45 assists for Columbus), Jeff Cunningham (64 goals, 44 assists), Guillermo Barros Schelotto (33 goals, 41 assists) and Federico Higuain (39 goals, 35 assists) in the 30-30 club.
CLARK RECORDS 5 SAVES AS PART OF 7TH CLEAN SHEET OF 2016
Against New England on Sunday, Crew SC goalkeeper Steve Clark made five saves and kept a clean sheet as part of a 2-0 victory against the Revolution. Clark now has 106 saves on the season, eight shy of tying his MLS single-season best in the category (114, recorded in 2015). Clark's seven shutouts are also one shy of tying his MLS single-season best in that category as well (eight, set in 2014).
CLARK APPROACHING 100 REGULAR-SEASON STARTS, APPEARANCES
By starting against the Revs, Steve Clark made his 97th career Major League Soccer regular-season start and appearance. Clark has started every regular-season match for Crew SC since his arrival to the club prior to the 2014 season. Nearing the century milestone, Clark would become just the second goalkeeper in Columbus history to make 100 regular-season starts, joining William Hesmer (130). Should the goalkeeper continue his streak of starting every Crew SC match, he would hit the milestone on Thursday, October 13 at Chicago.
BLACK & GOLD CONTINUE TO LEAD MLS IN PASSING ACCURACY
According to the League's official statistician, Opta, Crew SC currently leads all of Major League Soccer in passing accuracy, having recorded an 82.43 percent completion rate through 29 regular-season matches. Columbus also ranks second in the League in completed passes per match, at 396.31, as well as second in attempted passes per match, at 480.79.
CREW SC AMONG BEST IN POSSESSION, CHANCES CREATED PER MATCH
According to the League’s official statistician, Opta, Columbus Crew SC ranks second in the League in possession (55.45%) and third in MLS in chances created per match (10.66). Columbus is one of eight clubs in the League averaging more than 10 chances created per match.
PARKHURST LEADS ALL MLS DEFENDERS IN SUCCESSFUL PASSES
Among all League defenders, Michael Parkhurst has completed the most passes during the 2016 regular season, with 1,261. Teammate Harrison Afful ranks fourth in the League in the category, with 1,071.
