May 18 at Toronto FC - Higuaín splits TFC defenders, Oduro provides classy one-touch finish
Tyson Wahl (On Higuain’s ball to Oduro): “Obviously it’s the right person passing [Oduro] the ball. Higuain is a super accurate passer and they are the perfect combination. Those two complement each other really well and it is nice to have a guy who can make a tougher pass and a guy like Dom who can make the perfect run who is faster than 99 percent of the other players on the field.”
Dom Oduro: “Me and Higuain always have this conversation afterwards, but anytime he has the ball I’m to make that run. He got the ball – made eye contact – and just slipped it in and I saw the goalie coming in slow motion and I saw that corner and gave it a one-tap. It looks easy, but the whole combination was really a process.”
June 29 at Sporting Kansas City - Arrieta leads one-man, 60-yard effort to beat Nielsen
Dom Oduro: “On the road in Kansas City they were really dominating us and in the second half we knew we had to make something happen. Jairo [Arrieta] had a chance and made a pretty good run at the ball, made a run by [Matt] Besler, and he just slipped the ball in. It was really great for us. Unfortunately we couldn’t win that game, but he lifted the team up a little bit.”
