Following the United States’ 3-2 victory over France on Tuesday, June 4, Columbus Crew SC Homegrown Player Aboubacar Keita and the rest of the U.S. U-20 squad advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.

With a brace from Sebastian Soto (25th and 74th minute), the Stars & Stripes were at a draw with Les Bleus until Justin Rennicks cleaned up a rebound in the 83rd minute to secure the victory. Notably, Keita started and played the full ninety minutes.
Following its victory over France, the U.S. is the only nation to advance to the quarterfinals of the last three U-20 World Cups, as USA is now slated to take on Ecuador. In their last match, Ecuador defeated Uraguay 3-1 after going down 1-0 early in the first half.
