COLUMBUS – The Columbus Crew announced today that it has traded one of its eight international roster slots in 2013 to FC Dallas in exchange for a Fourth Round selection in the 2014 Supplemental Draft. The international roster slot will return to Columbus on January 1, 2014. Per Major League Soccer and club policy, further details of the trade were not disclosed.
Following the trade, the Black & Gold now have seven international slots in 2013 – five of which are currently filled by players under contract. Designated Player Federico Higuain (Argentina), Jairo Arrieta (Costa Rica), Glauber (Brazil), Matias Sanchez (Argentina) and Bernardo Anor (Venezuela) currently occupy five of the Crew’s international roster slots.
