Columbus students encouraged to "Stay In the Game! Keep Learning, Every Day" with the Columbus Crew

Columbus City Schools and the Columbus Crew will officially kick off their new partnership to promote improved school attendance as part of the "Stay in the Game! Keep Learning, Every Day" Network.

Who: To celebrate this partnership Superintendent/CEO Dr. Talisa Dixon will be joined by Columbus Crew President of Business Operations Kristin Bernert, Coach Caleb Porter, and players from the team (along with Crew Cat). Together they will welcome students arriving at Sullivant Elementary with a high energy clap-in.

What: The "Stay in the Game!" Network is a statewide initiative designed to promote the importance of school attendance and put an end to chronic absenteeism. It promotes quality education by using attendance data and family feedback to build a school-going culture, uncover and reduce common barriers to attendance, and support student engagement opportunities. Originally started in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District with the Cleveland Browns Foundation, the network has grown to engage local school districts throughout the state.

Network will expand to 17 school districts across Ohio, benefitting more than 150,000 students during this 2022-2023 school year.
