Columbus Crew announces call-ups for September FIFA international window

COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew today announced that three players have earned call-ups to join their respective national teams for the September FIFA international window: Milos Degenek (Australia), Kevin Molino (Trinidad and Tobago), and Lucas Zelarayan (Armenia).

Degenek will join the Australian National Team for friendlies against Oceanic rival New Zealand. The two-leg series will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the two countries’ first meeting in international matches, dating back to 1922. The Socceroos first host the All Whites on Sept. 22 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia, before traveling to Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand, for the second match on Sept. 26. Degenek has been capped 36 times by Australia, with his last appearance in a 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against United Arab Emirates on June 7.

Molino joins the Trinidad and Tobago National Team as the Soca Warriors compete in the 2022 King’s Cup, set to take place at 700th Anniversary Stadium in the Chiang Mai province of Thailand from Sept. 22-25. Trinidad and Tobago will face Tajikistan on Sept. 22 and will take on either host nation Thailand or Malaysia on Sept. 25, contingent on the first result. Molino has earned 53 caps for Trinidad and Tobago, last appearing in a Concacaf Gold Cup group stage match against Guatemala on July 18, 2021.

Zelarayan is slated to link up with the Armenia National Team for two matches in 2022-23 UEFA Nations League B group-stage play. Armenia first hosts Ukraine on Sept. 24 at Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan, Armenia, before traveling to Dublin, Ireland, to take on the Boys in Green at Aviva Stadium on Sept. 27. Zelarayan appeared in four matches for Armenia, last playing in a 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Germany on Nov. 4, 2021.
