COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew 2 announced today the transfer of defender Chris Rogers to Sandvikens IF of Superettan, the second division of Swedish Football, for an undisclosed transfer fee. The Crew will retain a percentage of future transfer fees for Rogers, as well as a buy-back clause for the rights to his contract.
Rogers departs the Club after making 80 appearances and 74 starts for Crew 2. He signed with the Capybaras in 2024 and logged 6,592 minutes, three goals and five assists across his four seasons with Crew 2.
A member of the Club for 10 years, the New Albany, Ohio, native joined the Crew Academy in 2016 and worked his way through the Player Pathway before captaining the second team in 2025.
The 20-year-old played the full 90 minutes of every match in Crew 2’s 2023 MLS NEXT Pro postseason campaign that resulted in a second-consecutive Eastern Conference championship and MLS NEXT Pro Cup appearance.
