COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew 2 has signed midfielder Terron Williams. The 18-year-old joins the Black & Gold for the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season after most recently spending time with Real Monarchs in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference.
"Terron is a promising young player with a lot of potential, and we are excited to welcome him to Columbus,” said Crew 2 General Manager Corey Wray. “Terron has valuable experience in MLS NEXT Pro from his time with Real Monarchs, and we look forward to helping him develop as a person and a player within our organization.”
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Williams joined the Real Salt Lake Academy in 2020 after playing for the San Diego Surf in the Elite Clubs National League. He signed his first professional contract with Real Monarchs on Feb. 2, 2022, at the age of 16, joining the squad for the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season. In the past two seasons as a member of the Real Monarchs, Williams appeared in 34 matches, recording five goals and more than 2,000 minutes. Williams made NEXT Pro headlines when he posted a brace against Whitecaps FC 2 on Aug. 5, 2022, marking the first two goals of his professional career in his seventh start.
