COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew 2 today announced that the Club’s preseason schedule is set to include five friendly contests. Crew 2 is set to face fellow MLS NEXT Pro side Chicago Fire FC 2, Indy Eleven of the USL Championship, and USL League One sides North Carolina FC, Charlotte Independence and Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.
Crew 2 take on Chicago Fire FC’s MLS NEXT Pro team at Historic Crew Stadium on Saturday, February 19 before hosting Indy Eleven on Saturday, March 5. The team then travels to Cary, North Carolina to take on North Carolina FC on Wednesday, March 9 before facing Charlotte Independence in Matthews, North Carolina on Saturday, March 12. The Black & Gold then return to Historic Crew Stadium to face Chattanooga Red Wolves SC Saturday, March 19.
Columbus Crew 2 is set to be one of 21 clubs participating in Major League Soccer’s recently announced MLS NEXT Pro. As part of the pathway to the Crew’s First Team, Crew 2 will join the new league for the inaugural 2022 season and will play its regular-season matches at Historic Crew Stadium. A season schedule and ticketing information for Crew 2 matches will be announced in the near future.
