COLUMBUS – In celebration of Major League Soccer’s first season in 1996, today MLS announced a retro-inspired apparel collaboration “Since ’96” with global fashion licensees Mitchell & Ness, the nation’s leading nostalgia company, and New Era. Columbus Crew SC is one of 11 clubs featured in the throwback line of clothing, which is an ode to the League’s launch and commemorates the League’s original clubs, along with additional participating clubs.

Crew SC “Since ’96” apparel is now available online at MLSstore.com and in limited availability at Crew SC’s Team shop at Historic Crew Stadium – open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET – as well as online at ColumbusSoccerShop.com. The “Since ’96” collection features a Mitchell & Ness polo, sublimed mesh jersey, ‘90s color-blocked hoodie, a windbreaker jacket, and long-sleeve shirt, as well as four types of hats from New Era: the 950 Jersey Hook, 2930 Ripped, 920 Fan Fave, and the Winter Knit.
Featuring 11 clubs’ – Columbus Crew, LA Galaxy, Colorado Rapids, New England Revolution, Dallas Burn (FC Dallas), D.C. United, Seattle Sounders, The Wiz (Sporting Kansas City), Vancouver 86ers (Whitecaps), Portland Timbers and San Jose Clash (Earthquakes) – the collection will feature an embossed ‘since ‘96’ hangtag. Clubs established in 1996 will also have a ‘founding club’ embellishment on the garment.
This Thursday, the Crew opens the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League on the road on April 8, against Nicaraguan side Real Esteli FC in the First Leg of the Round of 16 [8:00 p.m. ET / FS1, TUDN]. Upon returning to Columbus, Crew SC hosts Real Esteli at home for the Second Leg on April 15. Three days later, the Black & Gold kick-off the 2021 MLS regular season at Historic Crew Stadium on Sunday, April 18, against the Philadelphia Union.
