Columbus (2020): Cadden made eight regular-season appearances (three starts as a right-back) for Crew SC this season. He made his regular-season debut appearance for Crew SC on Opening Match against New York City FC (March 1) as a substitute for Lucas Zelarayan and was a substitute on the road against Seattle Sounders FC (March 7) for Milton Valenzuela. Cadden made a substitute appearance against FC Cincinnati* (July 11), registering his first assist in a Black & Gold jersey on a Gyasi Zardes goal. He made his first Crew and MLS start in a MLS is Back Tournament Group Stage match against the New York Red Bulls* (July 16) at right back. Cadden made a total of three appearances (one start) during the MLS is Back Tournament. He made a substitute appearance at home against Chicago Fire FC (August 20) and made his second regular-season start on the road at New York City FC (August 24) before coming on as a substitute at Toronto FC (September 27). Cadden then started and played the full 90 minutes on the road at D.C. United (October 28). In Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs action, he made one substitute appearance at home against Nashville SC (November 29).

Columbus (2019): Chris Cadden did not make an appearance for Crew SC this season. 

On July 23, 2019, Columbus Crew SC announced that it has signed 22-year-old defender/midfielder Chris Cadden. As part of the transaction, Cadden is set to immediately go on a loan to Oxford United FC of England’s League One before joining Crew SC ahead of the 2020 campaign. Cadden most recently played for Motherwell FC of the Scottish Premiership, Scotland’s First Division, making over 100 appearances for the club. At the international level, Cadden has earned two caps for the Scotland National Team.

Cadden last played in Scotland’s topflight from 2013-2019, making 139 appearances while scoring 12 goals and providing 21 assists for the club across all competitions. The defender helped The Steelmen finish in second place in the Premiership (2014/2014) as well as reach the final of the League Cup (2017/2018) and the final of the FA Cup (2017/2018).

Cadden spent the second half of the 2014/2015 season on loan at Albion Rovers FC of League Two.  While with Albion Rovers, he made 10 appearances and tallied two goals while helping the club win a League Two title and achieve promotion to League One.
 

iNTERNATIONAL

At the international level, Cadden has earned two caps with the Scotland National team, making his debut last year in an international friendly against Peru (May 30). The Defender also featured for Scotland at the Under-21 level.

Cadden comes from a family of soccer players as his twin brother, Nicky, plays professionally in Scotland and father, Steve, also had a professional career. He likes to play golf in his free time, and is excited to play in Muirfield Village (Jack Nicklaus’ course) when his father and brother come visit the United States. Cadden is interested in learning more about American football and the NFL. His favorite TV shows are SuitsEntourage and Game of Thrones. Pasta is Cadden's favorite food to eat and cook.  His favorite place to go on vacation is Ibiza, Spain. Cadden enjoys playing the Call of Duty video game series. He speaks English.
