Columbus Crew SC may be on a bye week this week but there is still plenty of action happening around the League. Here are three things to keep your eye on during week 21.
Glorious Galaxy
LA Galaxy is looking to extend its six-game unbeaten streak as it goes against one of the Eastern Conference contenders New York Red Bulls as a part of MLS Soccer Sunday. The Galaxy's streak will be tested as the Red Bulls are led by forward Bradley Wright-Philips who has 12 goals so far this season, including three in his last two matches.
Lampard is on fire
NYCFC's Frank Lampard is on fire, scoring eight goals in the last nine matches. Most recently, notching a hat trick in New York City's 5-1 win over the Colorado Rapids. Lampard and his team are currently sitting at the top of the Eastern standings with 36 points and continue to impress winning four of its last six matches. NYCFC will hope to steal some points from the West as they host San Jose before visiting MAPFRE Stadium on Aug. 13, presented by Big Lots!.
CONCACAF Champions League clashes
Four MLS teams have CONCACAF matches this week. The Vancouver Whitecaps downed Central (Trinidad and Tobago), 1-0, at Ato Boldon Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago.
Tonight, the New York Red Bulls host Antigua GFC (8 p.m.) and the Portland Timbers host Dragon (10 p.m.). On Thursday, FC Dallas closes our the MLS action in the CCL with a hosting of Real Esteli (8 p.m.)
