Columbus Crew SC is back at MAPFRE Stadium to host the Chicago Fire in its last home match of the regular-season. Before the second of three meetings between the two clubs, here are three things to know about the Fire…
Rough road streak
Chicago has struggled on the road this season, winning only one time playing away from Toyota Park back on August 20 when the Fire shut-out Montreal 3-0 at Stade Saputo. The Fire will be desperate for some points, as they currently sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference Standings.
Back to back meetings
The last time Crew SC and the Fire met was back on March 19 when both teams walked away with a point in its 0-0 draw in Toyota. After this Saturday’s meeting in MAPFRE Stadium, the Black & Gold and Chicago will meet in less than two weeks to face off one last time in Toyota Park, on Oct. 13.
A little History
Chicago and Columbus have met 63 times in the history of the two clubs, with the series split at 26-26-11. The two clubs are also even when it comes to playing at MAPFRE Stadium with each team having 10 wins and 10 losses respecitvely, along with 7 matches ending in draws. Saturday's showdown will surely be battle to see who can break the even trend.
