Two shutouts later, plus a game-winning goal from defender Jonathan Mensah on Saturday at Atlanta United, and the Crew has itself with two nominees on this week's MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week.
Mensah was named a starter following an unbelievable performance at Atlanta, which followed a shutout home draw the Wednesday before vs. Nashville SC, while goalkeeper Eloy Room earned a nod on the bench for the second consecutive week.
Along with scoring his first league goal this season, Mensah's 14 clearances were the most by anyone in the league so far this season. His 11 headed clearances are also a single-match high in MLS.
Room recorded his fourth and fifth shutouts of the year last week, closing in on his seven total from 2020.
