The two sides last met on August 18, when the Columbus Crew traveled to Harrison, New Jersey to face the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena. John Tolkin scored the match's lone goal in the 33rd minute, giving the Red Bulls a 1-0 win. Goalkeeper Eloy Room made four saves and defender Jonathan Mensah provided eight clearances for the Crew.

Entering Tuesday's match against the New York Red Bulls, the Crew currently holds a five-match regular-season unbeaten home streak against New York, dating back to the 2015 regular season. Over that stretch, the Black & Gold have a 2-0-3 home record and have outscored the Red Bulls 8-6.

Since the beginning of the 2011 MLS season, Darlington Nagbe's MLS rookie year, only 18 players have attempted 10,000 or more passes in regular-season action. In addition to being one of those 18 players, Nagbe leads the group in passing accuracy. Over than span, Nagbe has completed 11,640 of his 12,943 passes for a passing accuracy percentage of 89.93%.

LUCAS ZELARAYAN: THE FREE-KICK SPECIALIST

With his free-kick goal against FC Cincinnati on August 27, Lucas Zelarayan brought his total to five free-kick tallies in 2021 regular-season action. Zelarayan’s five free-kick goals ties him with Sebastian Giovinco for second-most free-kick goals (five) in a single MLS regular-season since 2003*. Zelarayan is also tied with four other players for most free-kick goals in MLS since 2003, behind only Giovinco (14).
