There are two things behind this Notebook:
- I saw that Crew SC Digital Communications Manager Adam Geigerman used this cool timeline feature in a story last week, so I wanted to find a way to use it because it could be a neat way to display and convey some historical stuff. Wil Trapp’s 100th Crew SC appearance offered a perfect excuse to put Adam to work using his timeline thingamabob.
- With Wil Trapp having such a fun 100th appearance, I started wondering what type of experience it was for the other 26 guys who hit that milestone. So what better way to celebrate Trapp’s 100th cap with a look back at ALL of the 100th caps? And with the timeline!
When I asked Trapp about reaching 100 appearances, he said, “It goes quick, man. It goes really quick.”
I felt the same way looking back at 20+ years of history and all of the names that preceded Trapp to this milestone. It goes quick, man. It goes really quick.
So let’s take a look, in timeline form, at all of the men who have appeared in 100 MLS regular season matches for Columbus Crew SC. We can let Wil’s spotlight reflect and shine on those who have come before. They are all part of a special club within our Massive Club.
