PREVIEW | Crew travels to New York Red Bulls for first meeting of 2021

Columbus travels to Harrison, New Jersey on Wednesday, August 18, to face the New York Red Bulls for the first time this regular season. The Crew has won the last three matches against New York, including a 3-2 win in last season's playoffs (8:00 p.m. ET, Bally Sports Ohio, 97.1 FM The Fan).

This is Columbus’s first three-match winning streak over the Red Bulls since June 2001 to March 2002 as the Crew has just one four-match winning streak in the series, from May 1997 to June 1998.

After leading 1-0 on Saturday over CF Montreal, the Red Bulls's winless run extended to seven games (D3 L4) after a 2-1 loss.

The Victor Wanyama penalty against the Red Bulls was the first 98th-minute winning goal scored in MLS since Erik Sorga scored at 97:29 for D.C. United against the Red Bulls in September 2020.

New York has lost an MLS-high 16 points from winning positions this season, including 10 during this winless run alone. Meanwhile, the Crew looks to snap a four-match losing skid, the Club's longest such streak since the summer of 2019.

Kickoff on Wednesday is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, with the Crew returning home on Saturday, August 21 to face Seattle Sounders FC at Lower.com Field.
