The Black & Gold will hit the road again as they travel to the West Coast to face the San Jose Earthquakes in their first and only meeting in the 2017 Major League Soccer regular season. The cross-conference match will take place Saturday at Avaya Stadium with a 10:30 p.m. ET kickoff.

The Black & Gold hold an overall 19-14-7 record against the Quakes.
In the two clubs’ only meeting last season, Crew SC took the Quakes for a 2-0 spin on August 27 at MAPFRE Stadium. The Black & Gold victory was largely in part due to some Justin Meram heavy lifting and a firm backline. Meram assisted Ethan Finlay’s 32nd minute goal before netting his own in the 84th minute off a penalty kick. Crew SC also dominated San Jose in the first half holding more than 67 percent of the possession, launching 13 shots, and threatening the visiting defenders with 18 crosses — a League record in 2016 for that category.
The Black & Gold will enter Saturday night’s match fresh off a 2-2 draw, thanks to an Ola Kamara brace, against Real Salt Lake last Saturday. The Black & Gold will have had a chance to finally rest up this week after a crazy three games in eight days, two of which were on the road.

Crew SC will travel to the West Coast to face the San Jose Earthquakes for a cross-conference clash Saturday night before returning home to MAPFRE Stadium to host Bastian Schweinsteiger and the Chicago Fire on August 12 for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff.
