Crew supporters,
Thanks to our fans, the collaboration of Columbus’ business and civic leaders and the love of soccer in
our city, together we made history by keeping the Crew in their rightful home. Since this incredible, unified
movement officially “Saved the Crew” in 2019, our city and Club – and most importantly, our supporters –
have hosted and won two MLS Cups, celebrating the most recent one arm-in-arm while singing Wise Men
at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field. The next year, our first-class venue and supporters once again showcased
throughout the world what makes our region special on and off the pitch during the 2024 MLS All-Star
Game and our team’s Leagues Cup title run.
Whether you call it “ColumbUS,” “The Columbus Way” or simply the power of everyone working together,
these amazing things happened only because individuals came together as a team to accomplish a
shared goal, just like sports taught me and so many of you growing up.
Another historic opportunity is here for Columbus – potentially bringing an NWSL club to the Heart of
American Soccer. Our leadership is fully committed to this mission, and the response has been just as
strong from the members of our community, inspired by the prospect of elite women’s professional soccer
players representing our hometown and serving as role models for our youth and future leaders.
Columbus is the perfect home for the 18th NWSL franchise. The Club would have the league’s most
passionate soccer fans cheering them on at our stadium, as well as facilities and resources that rival the
best men’s and women’s teams across the world so they can consistently compete for championships.
We’re ready to deliver for the NWSL in 2028, and we know Columbus supporters are, too. You were
pivotal to the Crew staying in Ohio. Now, you can have the same impact and help a new professional
women’s soccer club come to our region.
If you haven’t already, we encourage you to show your support of #NWSLtoCBus by taking one minute to
sign the petition at www.NWSLtoCBus.com.
Glory to Columbus,
Mary Shepro
