CREW SC UNDEFEATED AT HOME AGAINST THE NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION IN REGULAR-SEASON ACTION SINCE 2013


Heading into Saturday’s match, Crew SC is undefeated in its last four regular-season home matches against the New England Revolution, having last lost against the Revs on October 27, 2013. Since that match, the Black & Gold have won each of their home matches against the Revolution at MAPFRE Stadium, posting a record of 4-0-0 and outscoring New England 7-1. Additionally, Crew SC has posted two shutouts in its last two home matches against the Revs in regular-season action.


HARRISON AFFUL: MOST SHOTS BY ANY MLS DEFENDER


Harrison Afful, now in his fourth season with Crew SC, leads all MLS defenders in shots and shots on target so far in the 2018 regular season, according to Opta. Through seven regular-season matches (all starts), Afful has attempted 15 shots, with five of those being on target, more than any other defender in the League. Since joining the Black & Gold in 2015, Afful has made 70 regular-season appearances (67 starts), while scoring three goals and providing six assists.


GYASI ZARDES TIED FOR SECOND-MOST GOALS IN MLS


Through seven matches in the 2018 MLS regular season, forward Gyasi Zardes has tallied four goals. Zardes’ four strikes tie him with eight other players.


BLACK & GOLD NEARING 600TH GOAL AT HOME IN REGULAR-SEASON ACTION


Since the inaugural 1996 MLS regular season, Crew SC has played 351 regular-season home matches while posting a winning record of 185-94-72. Over that span, the Black & Gold have outscored opponents 596-412 and are now only four goals away from scoring their 600th regular-season goal in a home match.


ARTUR AMONG MLS LEADERS IN MULTIPLE CATEGORIES


Through seven matches in the 2018 MLS regular season, Crew SC midfielder Artur is among the League leaders in multiple categories, according to Opta. The Brazilian ranks third in completed passes (403); he is fourth in attempted passes (464); he has attempted the sixth-most tackles in the League (24); he has won the fifth-most tackles (18); and he is tied for seventh-most recoveries (58) with teammate Zack Steffen. Additionally, Artur leads Crew SC in each of the above-mentioned categories.


FEDERICO HIGUAIN SECOND IN MLS IN GOAL-SCORING CHANCES CREATED


Federico Higuain sits second in the League in goal-scoring chances created, including assists, through seven matches in the 2018 MLS regular season. Per Opta, Higuain has created 21 goal-scoring chances since the beginning of the season, including two secondary assists, which puts him behind only New York City FC’s Maximiliano Moralez (22). In addition to creating these goal-scoring chances, the midfielder has also scored two goals to bring his 2018 output to two goals and two assists in seven regular-season appearances (all starts).


CREW SC: SECOND MOST PASSES IN OPPONENT’S HALF


So far in the 2018, Crew SC have attempted (1848) and completed (1397) the second highest number of passes in the opponent’s half in MLS regular-season action. The Black & Gold sit behind only Sporting Kansas City (1931 attempted passes, 1479 completed passes). 


CREW SC AMONG LEADERS IN RECOVERIES AND INTERCEPTIONS


Through seven matches in the 2018 MLS regular season, Crew SC leads MLS in recoveries (474) and is second in the League in interceptions (104), behind only the Montreal Impact (109). Leading the way for the Black & Gold in recoveries are goalkeeper Zack Steffen and midfielder Artur, each of whom have 58 recoveries and are tied for seventh-most recoveries across the League. Meanwhile, defender Harrison Afful and midfielder Pedro Santos are tied for most interceptions for Crew SC, with 17 interceptions each. Additionally, Afful and Santos are also tied with Alexander Ring (New York City FC) for sixth-most interceptions in MLS.
