Columbus Crew SC 1-0 loss at Chicago Fire
The Black & Gold fell to the Fire in a 1-0 match on Saturday, bringing the Crew SC three-game winning streak to an end. It was the second meeting between the two teams. The lone goal came in the 22nd minute after a Nemanja Nikolic breakthrough. Crew SC keeper, Zack Steffen came up with some heroic saves, however, including a major one against Bastian Schweinsteiger, to spare his team from a bigger deficit.

The Black & Gold then return home for the first leg of the Trillium Cup against Toronto FC on April 15 for an 8 p.m. kickoff at MAPFRE Stadium.
Orlando City SC 1-0 win vs. New York Red Bulls
After suffering their first loss off the season against Columbus Crew SC in Week 5, Orlando City SC picked things back up with a 1-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls. City’s win extended their winning streak in their new home stadium to three games. The single goal of the game came in the 34th minute after Servando Carrasco headed home a Will Johnson corner kick.
Atlanta United FC 2-2 draw at Toronto FC
The two Eastern Conference clubs battled to an exciting 2-2 draw in Week 6. Atlanta opened the scoring when Hector Villalba breezed one past the fingertips of Toronto’s keeper. Sebastion Glovinco answered with a goal of his own in the 20th minute. Toronto pulled ahead right before the half with a 44th minute goal by Justin Morrow. However, fresh out of the locker room, Villalba earned himself a brace in the 47th minute, equalizing for Atlanta.
New England Revolution 2-0 win vs. Houston Dynamo
The Revs dominated the Dynamo with a 2-0 win at home, their sixth straight win at Gillette Stadium, the longest-active streak in MLS currently. New England also became the first team to record a shutout against the Houston Dynamo this year. Both of the Revs’ goals came in the second half thanks to Kei Kamara (52’) and Juan Agudelo (72’).
New York City FC 2-1 loss at D.C. United
New York City FC thought they were in for an easy win against D.C. United after they had previously defeated them 4-0, but United wouldn’t let history repeat itself. Lloyd Sam put D.C. on the scoreboard in the 53rd minute. Despite a late goal by New York’s David Villa in the 84th minute, Luciano Acosta sealed City’s fate with his 73rd minute rebound goal.
Montreal Impact 2-0 loss at LA Galaxy
The LA Galaxy tallied two goals against the 10-man Montreal team, who have yet to tally a win so far this season. Romain Alessandrini put the Galaxy on the board after he found the back of the net in the 15th minute. A red card was shown to Marco Donadel late in the first half leaving his team to battle the rest of the match a man down. Jermaine Jones sealed the Impact’s fate with his goal in the 74th minute, his first for the Galaxy.
Philadelphia Union 3-1 loss vs. Portland Timbers
The Union are one of two MLS teams still looking for their first win of the season. Unfortunately for them, they are still searching after they fell 3-1 to the Portland Timbers. Although the Union opened the scoring with a 26th minute Richie Marquez header, the Timbers quickly thwarted their advance. Darlington Nagbe equalized six minutes later from 20-yards outside the box. Roy Miller’s header in the 66th minute then put his team on top, his first MLS goal out of 130 game appearances. Fanendo Ali put the nail on the coffin after he buried a penalty kick in the 88th minute, making him the Timber’s all-time leading scorer.
