New York Red Bulls 2-1 win at Atlanta United
The Red Bulls sit atop the East after their comeback victory at Atlanta United. The first regular season victory for the Red Bulls was made possible by two goals scored after the 75th minute, one of which was an own-goal charged to Anton Walkes in the 82nd minute. Things looked hopeful for Atlanta United when Yamil Asad scored the expansion team’s first goal in the 25th minute. New York answered with an equalizer by Daniel Royer in the 76th.
Orlando City SC 1-0 win vs. New York City FC
Orlando City opened their new stadium in style with a shutout victory over New York City FC. Cyle Larin scored the only goal of the match in the 15th minute. Two of Orlando City’s top players, Larin and Kakà , both left the field due to injury, but that didn’t ruin Orlando City’s 1-0 housewarming party.
Chicago Fire 1-1 draw at Columbus Crew SC
The season opener for both Eastern Conference teams ended in a draw after a battle of the halves. Columbus took control of the first half after a 17th minute goal by Ethan Finlay. David Accam answered Finlay’s goal when the visiting Chicago Fire knotted things up in the second half with a 73rd minute goal.
D.C. United 0-0 draw vs. Sporting Kansas City
D.C. United hoped for a win in their last home opener at RFK Stadium, but things ended in a scoreless draw. Both teams’ goalkeepers came up with big saves early on in the match keeping the game scoreless.
Philadelphia Union 0-0 draw at Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Philadelphia travelled north for a scoreless game against the ‘Caps. The most excitement came in the middle of the second half when the Union’s Keegan Rosenberry saved a shot off the line by Jordan Harvey.

Toronto FC 0-0 draw at Real Salt Lake
The defending Eastern Conference champions played to a scoreless draw against Real Salt Lake. Both teams had scoring opportunities but neither could find the back of the net.
Montreal Impact 1-0 loss at San Jose Earthquakes
The Quakes controlled the majority of the game and sealed their victory with an early goal in the 17th minute by Anibal Godoy. Montreal is now on an 11-game winless streak when trailing at halftime. This game marked the first-ever victory by San Jose over Montreal.
New England Revolution 1-0 loss at Colorado Rapids
New England fell short against the Colorado Rapids in the season opener. Colorado’s Dominique Badji scored the lone goal in the 52nd minute. The Rapids also snubbed an equalizing opportunity toward the end of the game when Kei Kamara got his head on a cross. Kamara’s shot went wide sending the Revs home with a loss.

Crew SC next faces the Houston Dynamo on March 11 at 8:30 p.m. ET in Houston, Texas. The Black & Gold return home on March 25 to host the Portland Timbers for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff at MAPFRE Stadium.
