THE BASICS
Name: Ryan Finley
Position: FWD
Height: 6'
Weight: 180 lbs.
College: Notre Dame
Class: Senior
Citizenship: United States
BACKGROUND
In two years at Notre Dame and two at Duke, Finley scored a total of 56 goals and contributed 14 assists. 2012 was the forward's top season, finishing second in NCAA Division I with 21 goals in his senior campaign. The 2012 Big East Player of the Year is a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, which will be awarded Friday night in St. Louis.
FITTING WITH THE CREW
The Crew needs scoring a scoring option behind Federico Higuaín and Jairo Arrieta, especially with the potential of the latter missing time to contribute to Costa Rica's 2014 World Cup Qualifying campaign. Finley has shown he can get it done at the collegiate level and could be the scorer the Black & Gold are searching for in 2013.
TOPDRAWERSOCCER.COM'S TRAVIS CLARK SAYS
"Quick forward who came off the bench the last two years for Notre Dame. Good speed and gets behind opposing defense, scored a ton of goals. Needs to prove that he can do other things up front, but perhaps the best finisher in the class."
