With just over three weeks until the regular-season opener against the New York Red Bulls, Columbus Crew SC supporters flocked to North High Brewing's Production Facility in Columbus on Thursday night to hear from Investor-Operator Dr. Pete Edwards, President Tim Bezbatchenko, and Head Coach Caleb Porter.
As part of the event, the Club leaders delivered brief speeches and took questions from the fans. Having just arrived back from the first stint of preseason training in Chula Vista, Calif., Porter offered some bolstering words about the Club's mission this season.
"I can guarantee every week, we are going to play our hearts out on that pitch for 90 minutes. There's gonna be some ups and downs over 34 games, but we all know where we are going to be at the end," Porter said, as the crowd's applause crescendoed into supporter chants. "We stick together. We fight for one goal. We fight together for one goal throughout this season, so remember you are the soul and you are the beating heart of this club. We’ll see you all March 2."
Kickoff against the Red Bulls is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET at MAPFRE Stadium.
