Toronto FC 3-2 win vs Minnesota United FC
It appears that Toronto FC refuses to lose, extending their winning streak to six consecutive games after beating Minnesota United FC 3-2 in Week 11 of the MLS regular season. Both teams exchanged blows with Toronto opening the scoring off a Sebastian Giovinco penalty kick in the 20th minute. United put up a good fight with a Kevin Molino brace (52’, 62’), but due to an own-goal credited to Christian Ramirez (54’) and Tosaint Ricketts (77’) they were unable to keep up with the Reds.
Columbus Crew SC 3-2 win at Montreal Impact
It was the Justin Meram Show in Montreal after a hat trick left the Impact stunned. Meram’s pair of goals in the first half seemed enough to secure the win, but a the Montreal squad put up a fight with a pair of their own thanks to Ignacio Piatti (52’) and Anthony Jackson-Hamel (77’). But Meram, couldn’t let his mom down for Mother’s Day and found the back of the net once more in the 91st minute.
Crew SC next visits New England Revolution on May 21 and Toronto FC on May 26.

Orlando City SC 2-2 draw vs. Sporting Kansas City
Orlando City SC didn’t win for the first time in their new stadium after a 2-2 draw against Sporting Kansas City. A brace by SKC’s Latif Blessing (9’, 74’) and a pair of goals by the Lion’s Cyle Larin (23’) and Kaká (26’) made the two clubs share points in Week 12.
New York City FC 1-1 draw vs. FC Dallas
New York City FC and FC Dallas’ only matchup of 2017 ended without a winner after an exchange of goals left them all tied up. Kellyn Acosta put Dallas up first with a 20th minute goal, but it was answered for in the 68th minute by New York’s Thomas McNamara. NYCFC is now unbeaten in four of their last five matches.
New York Red Bulls 3-1 loss vs. LA Galaxy
The LA Galaxy finally tamed the New York Red Bulls when their 3-1 win ended the Red Bulls’ 13-month long unbeaten streak at home. The Galaxy found the back of the net three times thanks to Romain Alessandrini’s minute-apart brace and Giovani dos Santos’ penalty kick before a feeble NYRB attempt at a comeback in stoppage time with a Daniel Royer goal. This was the first time the Red Bulls have tasted defeat on their home turf since April 9, 2016.
Chicago Fire 4-1 win vs. Seattle Sounders FC
The Chicago Fire set the Seattle Sounders ablaze after their 4-1 victory in Week 12. Despite exchanging goals in the first half by Nemanja Nikolic (25’) and Clint Dempsey (28’), the second half belonged to the home team. Goals by David Accam (60’), Luis Solignac (73’), and Nikolic again in the 76th minute, made sure the Sounders learned their lesson about playing with Fire.
New England Revolution 4-0 win vs. Real Salt Lake
Despite not winning a game in over a month, the New England Revolution took the Real Salt Lake for a 4-0 spin last week. All four of the Revs’ goals came in the first half thanks to Scott Caldwell (4’), Kei Kamara (18’), Diego Fagundez (34’), and Lee Nguyen (41’). Real Salt Lake has been struggling this season and it definitely didn’t help this week that so many of their usual players were missing in action due to injury or U-20 National Team duty.
Atlanta United FC 1-1 draw vs. Portland Timbers
Despite some recent losses, Atlanta United finally managed to snag a point after a 1-1 draw against the Portland Timbers. United’s Julian Gressel opened the scoring in the 46th minute, his first professional goal. Unfortunately for him, it was answered for a few minutes later by Liam Ridgewell’s equalizer (50’).
D.C. United 4-0 loss vs. Philadelphia Union
After finally snagging their first win of the season last week, the Philadelphia Union have a renewed confidence and pummeled D.C. United 4-0 this week. Haris Medunjanin (39’), Oguchi Onyewu (64’), and Fafa Picault (78’) all put the Union on the board and opened their MLS accounts in Saturday night’s stunner. Fabian Herber’s 88th minute goal was just icing on the cake for them.
