Columbus Crew unveils schedule for 2022 Regular Season

COLUMBUS – Major League Soccer today released the Columbus Crew’s 34-game schedule for the 2022 regular season. As previously announced, the Crew will host the Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Lower.com Field in Opening Match on Saturday, February 26 at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Following the home opener, the Crew hits the road and travels to face the San Jose Earthquakes at PayPal Park on March 5 for the first away match of the season.

The Crew’s 2022 schedule includes several marquee matchups, including the first meeting of the season against newly-crowned MLS Cup champions New York City FC at Yankee Stadium on May 14. The Black & Gold host the return leg at Lower.com Field on August 6.

The Crew will twice face new expansion side Charlotte FC, hosting the first-ever meeting against the 2022 debutantes on June 18 followed by a road contest at Bank of America Stadium scheduled for July 30.

Lower.com Field heats up on July 17 when the Black & Gold host for the first “Hell is Real” derby match of the season. The Crew then heads south for the rematch at TQL Stadium on August 27.

All of the Crew’s nationally broadcast matches will be played at Lower.com Field, beginning on May 21 against LAFC which will air on UniMás, followed by the FC Cincinnati clash on July 17 and the August 21 match against Atlanta United on FS1. The national television slate concludes on September 18 when the Crew hosts MLS Cup runner-up Portland Timbers on ESPN. A complete local broadcast schedule will be released in the near future.

July and August will serve as the busiest months on the Crew calendar, with six matches in each of the respective months.

The Crew concludes the regular season on the road, traveling to face Orlando City SC at Exploria Stadium for Decision Day on Sunday, October 9.

All 28 MLS teams will play a 34-game regular season - 17 home games, 17 away games. The Crew takes on each Eastern Conference opponent two times. The Black & Gold are slated to face eight non-conference opponents including the Vancouver Whitecaps, San Jose Earthquakes, Nashville SC, Sporting Kansas City, LAFC, Real Salt Lake, Colorado Rapids and the Portland Timbers.

The 2022 season will be the Black & Gold’s 27th in MLS and the first full season at Lower.com Field, located in Astor Park. Fans looking to experience Crew matches have a number of options as Season Ticket Membership for the 2022, which are currently on sale, includes benefits such as private, member-only events, a 10 percent discount at the Crew Shop, monthly, interest free payment plans, the ability to purchase discounted parking, pre-sale access to all events at Lower.com Field, Historic Crew Stadium and FirstEnergy Stadium, and a dedicated account manager and service representative.

Fans can also purchase Nine-Match Ticket Plans by placing a deposit for as little as $100, providing fans limited game selection flexibility, access to pre-sales. Fans wanting to attend matches with single match tickets can sign up for single match ticket priority which will give access to purchase before the general public.
