COLUMBUS — Columbus Crew SC today announced the addition of two new staff members to its technical staff: Liviu Bird (Video Analyst) and McKenzie Bostic (Player Care Coordinator). Both Bird and Bostic are currently with the Club in preseason.
Bird joins Crew SC after spending 2019 as an assistant coach for Seattle Sounders FC’s Under-23 squad and serving as the technical director and youth coach for Kitsap Alliance FC. Bird’s previous experience includes working as the Head Coach for the Kitsap SC Pumas of the National Premier Soccer League and as the Interim Head Coach for Trinity Lutheran College. Additionally, Bird served as an assistant coach at Tacoma Community College, Edmonds Community College and Lakeside High School.
Bostic arrives to the Crew after working with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Events and Entertainment Department in 2019. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Bostic served as the Recruiting Intern and Administrative Assistant for Ohio State Football from 2017-2019 while simultaneously working as an Event Management Intern for The Ohio State University’s Department of Athletics.
The Crew’s 2020 MLS preseason training is currently underway in Chula Vista, California. The Black & Gold depart to Cancun, Mexico on January 29 before traveling to Tucson, Arizona on February 10 to participate in the 2020 Visit Tucson Sun Cup, which is set to take place from February 15-22.
The Black & Gold begin the 2020 MLS regular season at MAPFRE Stadium against New York City FC, on Sunday, March 1 at 12:30 p.m. ET.
