Columbus Crew Loan Defender Keegan Hughes to USL Championship Side Loudoun United FC   

COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew have loaned defender Keegan Hughes to USL Championship side Loudoun United FC. The Crew retain the right to recall Hughes at any point during the MLS regular season, subject to roster compliance guidelines.

“As Keegan enters his second season as a professional, it is important for him to get consistent minutes at a high level,” said Crew President and General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. “This loan to Loudoun is an opportunity for him to obtain that experience, which will help in his growth as a player.”

Hughes was signed by the Crew as a Homegrown player on January 11, 2023. He made his First Team debut on March 25, entering the match in the second half of a 6-1 victory over Atlanta United. In 2023, he additionally made nine appearances (all starts) and scored one goal for Columbus Crew 2 in MLS NEXT Pro action, and made nine appearances and scored one goal in the USL Championship while on loan to FC Tulsa.
