Columbus Crew host USL Championship’s Indy Eleven at Lower.com Field during Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on April 26

COLUMBUS – Following Thursday night’s geographically-based draw, U.S. Soccer announced today that the Columbus Crew will host their third-round game of the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at Lower.com Field at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, when the club will face USL Championship side Indy Eleven.

As one of their many year-round benefits, Crew Season Ticket Members will receive special access to tickets during a presale beginning Monday morning. Tickets will be available to the public on Wednesday.

The winner of the match will advance to the tournament’s Round of 32, slated for May 9-10.

The Crew own a 20-14-13 all-time record in the U.S. Open Cup play since their tournament debut in 1998. The Black & Gold were crowned U.S. Open Cup champions on October 24, 2002, when they defeated the LA Galaxy 1-0 at Historic Crew Stadium.

This year’s competition is the 108th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup – U.S. Soccer's National Championship. The tournament – first played during the 1913-1914 season – is conducted on a single-game-knockout basis and is open to all professional and amateur teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. In 1999, the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the United States was renamed to honor American soccer pioneer Lamar Hunt, the founder of Major League Soccer and the Columbus Crew.

The 2023 U.S. Open Cup winner will earn $300,000 in prize money, a berth in the 2024 Concacaf Champions League and have its name engraved on the Dewar Challenge Trophy – one of the oldest nationally-contested trophies in American team sports – now on permanent display at the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Frisco, Texas. The runner-up will earn $100,000, while the team that advances the furthest from each lower division will take home a $25,000 cash prize.

Crew Season Ticket Members can contact their membership services representative or email membershipteam@columbuscrew.com for more information.
