COLUMBUS – In celebration of the Club’s and City of Columbus’ Latino and Hispanic fans, players and local community, the Columbus Crew will host Latino Celebration Night, presented by Sherwin Williams, at Lower.com Field on Saturday, Sept. 20 against Toronto FC. Matchday elements throughout the evening will feature individuals and moments that highlight Latino individuals’ and culture’s impact on Central Ohio.
Before the contest, Sherwin Williams’ Bilingual Columbus Repaint Sales Representative Damir Pereira will serve as the coin toss captain. Adam Hernandez, who collaborated with the Crew on several art projects including a special Crew Cat bucket hat, will be the match igniter.
Saturday’s halftime show features a performance by Mariachi Garibaldi De Columbus and the presentation of the 2025 Esperanza Awards. Every year, the Columbus Latino Heritage Month Steering Committee, in partnership with La Asociación de Escritores, honors individuals and organizations who have demonstrated commitment, advocacy, and dedication to advancing the Latino community in Columbus.
To further recognize Latino Heritage Celebration Month, the Crew and Sherwin Williams are partnering with Leveling the Playing Field to collect new and gently used soccer equipment at Sherwin Williams stores from Sept.15-Oct. 15. For every donation made, Black & Gold supporters will have a chance to win a team signed Columbus Crew jersey. For more information, visit https://www.columbuscrew.com/sherwin-williams-gear-drive.
