Columbus Crew today drew Inter Miami CF 1-1 in the opening match of the Breeze Airways™ Carolina Challenge Cup held at Patriots Point in Charleston, South Carolina. Midfielder Derrick Etienne Jr. scored the late equalizer as the Crew earned a share of the points.
After a scoreless first half, Miami found the first goal of the match in the 59th minute when Ariel Lassiter finished a pass from Gonzalo Higuain.
In the 87th minute, Etienne Jr. pounced on a rebound in the box and buried his right-footed shot for the late equalizer.
