Columbus Crew battle Charlotte FC to a draw

Columbus Crew today battled MLS expansion side Charlotte FC to a 0-0 draw in the Breeze Airways™ Carolina Challenge Cup held at Patriots Point in Charleston, South Carolina.

Despite playing a starting XI that featured only one of the starters from Saturday’s match, the Crew managed to keep a clean sheet. New additions Milos Degenek and James Igbekeme saw their first minutes in Black & Gold, with Degenek getting the start alongside Jalil Anibaba, while Igbekeme entered the match as a second-half substitute.

The Crew closes out the Breeze Airways™ Carolina Challenge Cup when it faces the hosts of the tournament – the Charleston Battery - on Friday, February 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Friday’s contest is set to be streamed live on columbuscrew.com.
