As part of Greener Goals Week of Service, the Columbus Crew partnered with Rumpke to host a community cleanup at Linden-McKinley STEM Academy on Thursday, April 23.

Selected for achieving the most improved attendance from all Columbus City Schools high schools, Linden-McKinley reflects the impact of the Crew’s Stay in the Game! Attendance Network, an initiative dedicated to reducing chronic absenteeism across Central Ohio. Students who demonstrated strong attendance worked alongside Crew players, staff and Rumpke staff to support neighborhood cleanup efforts, followed by a school-wide pep rally celebrating their commitment to showing up for both their community and their future. The group collected more than 25 bags of trash to be recycled.
“We’re proud to support the City of Columbus and Rumpke’s commitment to giving back to the community,” said Dan Lentz, Crew Vice President, Corporate Partnerships. “During Greener Goals Week, we’re especially grateful for the opportunity to work together to keep our city clean and raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and recycling.”
MLS Greener Goals is an initiative by Major League Soccer to promote environmental sustainability through community service, reforestation, and waste reduction, often highlighted during an annual Week of Service around Earth Day. Major League Soccer’s 9th Annual Greener Goals Week of Service reinforces the league's commitment to raise awareness for environmental issues in our local communities.
