Columbus Crew adds slate of preseason matches 

COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew today announced the slate of preseason matches in advance of the 2023 Major League Soccer season opener on Feb. 25. 

The Crew are currently in Columbus and will train in-market through Feb. 5, during which the team will host USL Championship side Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in a closed-door match on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Historic Crew Stadium. 

The Black & Gold then hit the road for the second trip of preseason and will train in Fort Lauderdale from Feb. 6-18. While in South Florida, the Crew will face fellow MLS sides Inter Miami on Feb. 11 and Houston Dynamo on Feb. 15, and USL Championship side Hartford Athletic on Feb. 18. Per agreements with the clubs, the three matches will be played behind closed-doors.

The Crew began the preseason slate of matches against NPSL side Naples City SC on Friday, Jan. 27 while training in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

The Black & Gold are set to open the 2023 MLS season on the road against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, Feb. 25 and hosts D.C. United for the home opener at Lower.com Field on Saturday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
