COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew 2 have signed 2024 MLS SuperDraft pick Jayden Da for the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season. Selected in the First Round (29th overall), the 21-year-old forward joins the reigning MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference champions following a four-year collegiate career at Duquesne University.
“We are excited to sign Jayden to Crew 2 for the 2024 season,” said Corey Wray, Crew 2 General Manager. “He has had a great start to preseason, continuing to build off a very strong fall season with Duquesne University. We are looking forward to seeing the impact he will make with Crew 2 and to help him continue to develop his game within our ecosystem.”
With Duquesne from 2021-23, Da appeared in 46 matches (14 starts), registering 1,764 minutes, eight goals, and four assists. During his time with the Dukes, the forward was named to the 2023 All-Atlantic 10 Second Team and led his team to the 2021 A-10 championship game.
Da played his freshman season at Washington & Jefferson College where he was named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Player (PAC) and Newcomer of the Year after leading the conference in points (17) and assists (five) for the 2020-21 season while helping the team reach the PAC championship. In his freshman season, he logged six goals with three game-winners, which ranked second in the conference.
Prior to his collegiate career, Da played for the Olney Boys & Girls Club (OBGC) and attended Richard Montgomery High School, where he was the captain of the men’s soccer team.
Crew 2 begin the MLS NEXT Pro season at home against New York Red Bulls II at Lower.com Field on Sunday, March 17 at 3 p.m. ET. The full season schedule can be found here.
