How to become the Crew’s 2023 eMLS Amateur Cup champion 

Think you’ve got what it takes to be named the best amateur FIFA player in North America? Consider this your chance to prove it.

On Friday night, the first-ever eMLS Amateur Cup kicks off, as FIFA players from around the continent have a chance to compete as their favorite team for a chance at sweet prizes, ultimate bragging rights and a trip to the 2022 MLS Cup Final.

The eMLS Amateur Cup – Columbus Crew presented by Vertiv is a single-elimination tournament where Crew supporters play as the Black & Gold and compete for a chance to represent the club on the national stage.

While only one champ can be crowned, the eMLS Amateur Cup is an opportunity for Crew fans to connect outside of Lower.com Field and have fun along the way.

Participants can register here, while all Black & Gold fans are welcome to join the team’s Tournament Discord chat to discuss the games and connect with other Crew fans.

Tournament Details

• This is an exclusively online event, and check-in is at 6 p.m. The matches start at 7 p.m. and the game mode is a traditional head-to-head online friendly. The games are single leg, so it’s a “survive and advance” format.
• Players must be at least 13 years or older to participate.
• All matches are played on the PS4 version of EA SPORTS FIFA 23. PS5 users can participate by downloading the PS4 copy of the game with the Ultimate Edition of the game. Matches won't be played on other consoles.
• As mentioned earlier, all participants in the Crew’s localized tournament must play as the Black & Gold. The winner of the team’s event will then compete against participants representing other clubs from around North America.
• This is the first time the Crew had hosted this sort of event, but expect more to come in the future. What better way to participate in the inaugural eMLS Amateur Cup than competing and potentially repping the Crew!

In case you’re wondering what the prize is for winning the Crew’s competition, the winner will receive:

• One (1) seat to participate in a one-on-one FIFA 23 video game tournament hosted from Oct. 28-30, 2022 (the “eMLS Amateur Cup”).
• A Columbus Crew, customized PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 controller (Version of controller will be chosen by the winner following the tournament.)
• A Columbus Crew adidas Yellow 2022 Gold Standard Kit Authentic Custom Jersey
• $200 worth of FIFA Points, provided by Vertiv
• Be highlighted at a future Crew home Match in 2023
