Argudo, Opoku nominated for Rookie of the Year Award

Columbus Crew SC midfielder Luis Argudo and forward Eddie Opoku have been nominated for the AT&T Rookie of the Year award among a list of 13 other MLS players.

Argudo, Opoku nominated for Rookie of the Year Award -

Argudo attended Wake Forest University, playing two seasons and making 48 total appearances. He was selected by Crew SC in the Third Round of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft with the 21st pick (67th overall) on January 21, 2018. In his first season, Argudo has made 18 appearances for Columbus, including six starts. The New York native has registered 11 total shots, with two shots on goal.

Argudo, Opoku nominated for Rookie of the Year Award -

Opoku attended the University of Virginia, making 53 appearances (all starts). Opoku was named to the USC Second Team All-American in 2016 and 2017, as well as to the USC First Team All-South Region in 2016. The forward was selected by Crew SC in the Second Round (32nd overall) of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft on January 19, 2018. Since signing with Columbus, Opoku has made four appearances for the club, including one start, has played a total of 126 minutes and registered one shot on goal.

Players, technical staffers (technical directors, GMs, and coaches) and a select group of national and regional media began the voting process on Monday, Oct. 15, and the award finalists will be announced on Oct. 31.
