2022 Big Ten Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament Headed To Columbus

ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Big Ten Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament will have a new home for the 2022 season, with the semifinals and championship match scheduled for Nov. 3 and 6 at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio, the conference announced Friday. Both semifinals (Nov. 3 at 2 and 4:30 p.m. ET) and the final (Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. ET) will be televised live on Big Ten Network and the FOX Sports app.

This year’s Big Ten Women’s Soccer Tournament quarterfinals are slated for Oct. 30 and will be played on the campus of the higher-seeded school.

Single-session ticket packages for the Big Ten Women’s Soccer Tournament matches played at Lower.com Field are now available through Ticketmaster (semifinals and final) and the Columbus Crew Ticket Office (614-447-2739). All-session ticket packages can also be purchased online through Ticketmaster. Premium seating options and group ticket options can be found at ColumbusCrew.com/B1GWSOC.

A soccer-specific facility, Lower.com Field opened in 2021 and serves as the home pitch of the two-time Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup champion Columbus Crew. The stadium has also played host to a handful of international matches since its debut, including the U.S. Women’s National Team’s 9-1 victory over Uzbekistan in a friendly on April 9, 2022.

This will mark the fourth time since the debut of Big Ten women’s soccer in 1994 that the conference tournament will be played off campus. In 1997, the event was held at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota, with Michigan defeating Northwestern in the title game, 1-0 in overtime. More recently in 2017 and 2018, the tournament semifinals and final were played at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind., with Penn State earning the 2017 title (2-1 over Northwestern) and Minnesota claiming the 2018 crown (5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw).

The Big Ten Women’s Soccer Tournament also returns to Columbus for the third time, having previously been played on the Ohio State campus in 1996 (won by Indiana) and 2004 (won by Ohio State).
