ABOUT CF MONTERREY
CF Monterrey is a four-time Concacaf Champions League winner, having won the 2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2012-2013 and 2019 editions of the tournament. At the domestic level, Monterrey has won Liga MX on five occasions (México 1986, Clausura 2003, Apertura 2009, Apertura 2010, Apertura 2019) and Copa MX three times (1991–92, Apertura 2017, 2019–20). With its match against CF Monterrey on Wednesday, Crew SC has the chance to advance to the Semifinals of the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League for the first time in Club history. Crew SC heads into the match tied 2-2 on aggregate scoring and would need to either win, or draw by three or more goals to advance as road goals are the first tie-breaker. Should the Crew draw 2-2, the match would then head into a penalty shoot-out to determine who would advance to the Semifinals of the tournament.
CREW SC EXTENDS UNDEFEATED RUN ACROSS ALL COMPETITIONS
With its 0-0 draw on the road against CF Montreal on Saturday, Crew SC extended its undefeated run across all competitions to 10 matches. The streak dates back to a 2-1 win over Atlanta at Historic Crew Stadium last year (November 8), with the Crew posting a record of 7-0-3 over that span. Additionally, the Crew is undefeated at Historic Crew Stadium in its last 10 consecutive matches across all competitions, dating back to the Club’s 3-1 victory over New York City FC last season (October 18). Over that span, Crew has posted a home record of 8-0-2.
ROOM REGISTERS FOURTH SHUTOUT OF 2021
Goalkeeper Eloy Room registered a shutout in Saturday's 0-0 draw against CF Montreal. The goalkeeper made four saves en route to keeping a clean sheet - his fourth across all competitions this year. To date, Room has made 36 appearances (all starts) while registering 13 shutouts across all competitions since joining Crew SC on July 5, 2019.
