CREW SC'S CURRENT POINTS PER GAME TOTAL TIED FOR SECOND-HIGHEST IN CLUB HISTORY


Crew SC's points per game total of 1.73 for the 2020 MLS regular season is currently tied with its 2001 points per game total for the second-highest in Club history. The Crew's current points per game total sits behind only its 2008 total of 1.9 points, with the Club winning the Supporters' Shield that year before going on to achieve a domestic double by also winning MLS Cup. Additionally, with a win on Sunday, this would mark the second time in the last decade that the Club has finished with a top four spot in Supporters’ Shield standings.


CREW SC TIED FOR FEWEST GOALS CONCEDED IN 2020 REGULAR SEASON


Through 22 regular-season matches, Crew SC is tied for having conceded the least amount of goals in regular-season action (20 goals). The Black & Gold are level with both the Philadelphia Union and Nashville SC in this category with the final match of the regular season to be played on Sunday.


CREW SC ONE OF ONLY FIVE MLS TEAMS TO REACH THE MLS CUP PLAYOFFS 16+ TIMES


Columbus Crew SC officially clinched a spot in the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs on Sunday, October 18 by virtue of its 3-1 win against New York City FC. This marked the Club’s 16th all-time postseason berth, making the Crew one of only five clubs to make the playoffs 16 or more times in the League’s 25-year history, behind only the New York Red Bulls (20), the LA Galaxy (19), FC Dallas (17) and Sporting Kansas City (17). Of those 16 playoffs berths, the Black & Gold have reached the Eastern Conference Semifinals on 13 occasions, the Eastern Conference Championships on seven occasions and MLS Cup in 2008 and 2015, winning the title in 2008.


MENSAH NEARING 100TH REGULAR-SEASON APPEARANCE


Defender Jonathan Mensah is on the verge of making his 100th regular-season appearance with Crew SC. The defender joined the Crew ahead of the 2017 MLS regular season and has made 96 starts to go with his 99 regular-season appearances for the Black & Gold. Over that span, the Club captain has also scored three goals and provided three assists. In 2020, Mensah has made 22 regular-season appearances (all starts) and played every minute of Crew SC’s regular-season campaign - a total of 1,980 minutes.


MENSAH AMONG MLS LEADERS IN SUCCESSFUL PASSES AND CLEARANCES


Through 22 regular-season appearances in 2020, defender Jonathan Mensah has made a League-leading 1,259 successful passes and is second in the League with a total of 109 clearances. In passes, the defender is ahead of LAFC's Eddie Segura (1,150) and Toronto's Alejandro Pozuelo (1,112). In clearances, Mensah follows only Nashville SC's Walker Zimmerman (110) following Wednesday's match against Orlando City SC.
