At age 16, Jordan Miller discovered a lump in his lower abdomen and immediately scheduled a doctor's visit.

After a number of scans and procedures, Jordan and his family were given the official diagnosis – Stage 1 Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare type of cancer that forms in soft tissue.

Jordan would miss the end of his sophomore year and most of his junior year of high school as he studied from home. After enduring three difficult surgeries and 20 weeks of chemotherapy at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Jordan was told his October 2019 that he was officially in remission.

As an official LampStrong Hero of the Match ahead of Crew SC's game vs. FC Cincinnati, Jordan continues to be in good health as he regularly meets with doctors who are closely monitoring his condition.

Starting in 2014, the LampStrong Foundation was founded by current Columbus Crew and former Ohio State University Goalkeeper and Stage IV Hodgkin Lymphoma Survivor Matt Lampson.

Lampson started the organization with the goal of providing difference-making financial, emotional, and motivational support to cancer patients and families in all the stages of cancer treatment and recovery and to fund proven cancer researchers.

Jordan's LampStrong nomination is part of a larger, League-wide initiative during the month of September dedicated to "Kicking Childhood Cancer."

Now in its seventh year, the Kick Childhood Cancer campaign aims to find better cures for all types of childhood cancer, and now more than ever, provide support to one of the most vulnerable populations affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
