STARTING XI | FC Cincinnati vs. Columbus Crew SC - Aug. 29, 2020 -

CREW SC: BOUNCE-BACK KINGS

Crew SC has made a habit of winning after each loss or draw dating back to a 2-1 loss against New York City FC (August 21) last year. Since then, Crew SC has followed each of its losses or draws in regular-season action by notching a win. Following the aforementioned loss against NYCFC last year, Crew SC defeated FC Cincinnati 3-1 on the road (August 25). Crew SC then drew 2-2 with the Chicago Fire (August 31), which the Club followed up by defeating Atlanta United 3-1 on the road (September 14). A 1-1 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC (September 21) was followed by a 2-0 home victory over the Philadelphia Union (September 29). Similarly, after its 1-0 loss against Toronto FC last year (October 6), Crew SC opened up the 2020 season by defeating New York City FC 1-0 (March 1). Going into Saturday's road match at Nippert Stadium, the Crew is undefeated (5-0-0) in the last five contests immediately following a loss or draw.

CREW SC SETS SECOND BEST SHUTOUT STREAK IN CLUB HISTORY

The goal conceded by Crew SC in the 59th minute of Monday's match against New York City FC was just the second goal allowed by the Crew in regular-season action this year, and the first since Raul Ruidiaz converted a penalty kick against the Club during the 79th minute of the Crew’s road match against Seattle Sounders FC (March 7) earlier this season. NYCFC's goal against the Black & Gold put an end to Crew's shutout streak, capping it at 430 minutes - the second-longest regular-season shutout streak in Crew SC history. The streak is behind only the 512-minute shutout streak which ran from March 28 – June 2 of 2018.

CREW SC HAS BEST GOAL DIFFERENTIAL IN 2020 MLS REGULAR SEASON

Crew SC's +10 goal differential in 2020 regular-season action currently leads all MLS teams. This season, Crew SC has only conceded two goals. Sporting Kansas City and Toronto FC have the next best goal differential, at +6.
