Columbus Crew SC defender Waylon Francis spoke to 40 students at Finland Middle School today.
Francis discussed his experience playing soccer for the Costa Rican National Team, moving to the United States and the value of education. The students also had the opportunity to ask questions, get autographs and take pictures.
The middle schoolers are part of the school’s English as a second language program and are from countries all across the globe.
This event is part of Crew SC’s “Give Forward” initiative, which is sponsored by MAPFRE Insurance.
