Eastern Conference Roundup: May 11

NYC Derby

New England Revolution – 18 pts. | 2-2 draw at Orlando City SC, Week 11: vs. Toronto FC
New England forward Charlie Davies continued his scoring run with his fourth goal in as many games, as the Revolution earned a point on the road against Orlando City SC.

D.C. United – 18 pts. | 1-1 draw vs. Sporting Kansas City, Week 11: vs. Orlando City SC
Coming into week 10 tied with New England for first place in the Eastern Conference, D.C. United couldn’t pull away from the Revs. A goal from Jairo Arrieta was matched by Sporting Kansas City’s Dom Dwyer, as D.C.’s unbeaten streak at home extended to 17 games.

New York Red Bulls – 16 pts. | 2-1 win vs. NYCFC, Week 11: at Dallas FC
Despite having been reduced to 10 men after a second yellow card for Matt Miazga, the Red Bulls managed to win the first-ever New York City derby. They were led by forward Bradley Wright-Phillips who scored a brace.

Columbus Crew SC – 14 pts. | 3-2 win vs. Seattle Sounders FC, Week 11: at San Jose Earthquakes
Crew SC snapped the Sounders’ three-game winning streak behind a brace by Kei Kamara, who is now tied with Clint Dempsey as the League’s leading goal scorer. The Black & Gold stood as the only Eastern Conference team to defeat a team from the West in week 10.

Toronto FC – 9 pts. | 1-2 loss vs. Houston Dynamo FC, Week 11: vs. Montreal Impact
Only four days after a 1-0 defeat to Montreal in the Canadian Championship, Toronto FC also lost to the Houston Dynamo as Boniek Garcia and Will Bruin spoiled Toronto’s first home game of the season.

Chicago Fire – 9 pts. | 1-2 loss vs. Real Salt Lake, Week 11: at New York City FC
The Chicago Fire came up short against a visiting Real Salt Lake team anchored by goalkeeper Nick Rimando. Salt Lake took a 2-0 lead and held on thanks to acrobatic saves from the United States Men’s National Team goalkeeper, snapping Chicago’s three-game home winning streak in the process.

Orlando City SC – 9 pts. | 2-2 draw vs. New England Revolution, Week 11: at D.C. United
Forget Kaka. This time it was French defender Aurelien Collin providing the magic as Orlando City capitalized on a late opportunity to salvage its first home point since opening week.

New York City FC – 6 pts. | 1-2 loss at New York Red Bulls, Week 11: vs. Chicago Fire
After conceding early goals in both halves, New York City FC came within one after Patrick Mullins found the back of the net. But despite being up a man since the 36th minute, NYCFC couldn’t conjure up enough opportunities to equalize.

Philadelphia Union – 6 pts. | 0-3 loss at Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Week 11: vs. D.C. United
Philadelphia extended its losing streak to four games as it watched Vancouver take the top spot in the Western Conference.

Montreal Impact – 2 pts. | 1-2 loss vs. Portland Timbers FC, Week 11: vs. Real Salt Lake
The Impact succumbed to a Portland Timbers squad that welcomed back Diego Valeri. In his first start since tearing his ACL last October, Valeri opened the Timber’s scoring tally with a well-placed strike, while Nat Borchers added on for a 2-0 lead. Dominic Oduro brought Montreal within one, but it wasn’t enough as Montreal still searches for its first League victory.
