Eastern Conference roundup: March 9

1. Toronto FC - 3 pts. | 3-1 win at Vancouver Whitecaps FC, this week: at Columbus Crew SC

New additions Jozy Altidore and Robbie Findley each found the net in the Reds' road win, with Altidore scoring twice to open his 2015 account. Toronto FC next travels to Columbus for the first match of the 2015 Trillium Cup series.

Eastern Conference roundup: March 9 -
  1. D.C. United - 3 pts.
    |
1-0 win vs. Montreal Impact, this week: at New York Red Bulls

Former Columbus striker Jairo Arrieta scored as the Black-and-Red held on for a 1-0 victory at RFK Stadium over the weekend. The 2015 Atlantic Cup series gets kicked-off this weekend as D.C. United heads up to Red Bull Arena.

3. New York City FC - 1 pt. | 1-1 draw at Orlando City SC, this week: vs. New England Revolution

In front of 60,000+ at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, NYCFC looked poised for victory following Mix Diskerud's bending finish in the 76th minute, but Kaká's deflected, free-kick equalizer left Jason Kreis' side with a point in its MLS debut. NYCFC will look to get David Villa more involved as it hosts the New England Revolution at Yankee Stadium this week.

4. New York Red Bulls - 1 pt. | 1-1 draw at Sporting Kansas City, this week: vs. D.C. United

Jesse Marsch will be happy with the point his side took from a raucous Sporting Park in debut as Red Bull boss. New York's oldest rivalry gets renewed in Week Two as D.C. United visits for an Atlantic Cup clash.

5. Orlando City SC - 1 pt. | 1-1 draw vs. New York City FC, this week: at Houston Dynamo

A packed house, high drama and stars perfoming when it matters most - aside from a win, what more could Orlando City SC have asked for in its MLS debut as Kaká's stoppage-time free kick hit off the NYCFC wall and bounced into the net to rescue a point at The Citrus Bowl? The Lions travel to Houston to face the Dynamo on Friday at BBVA Compass Stadium.

6. Philadelphia Union - 1 pt. | 0-0 draw vs. Colorado Rapids, this week: at Real Salt Lake

The Union had hoped for more at PPL Park, and probably should have gotten a win after playing 22 minutes against a 10-man Rapids side. Things get tougher for Philadelphia as the club travels to Real Salt Lake in Week Two.

7. Columbus Crew SC - 0 pts. | 1-0 loss at Houston Dynamo, this week: vs. Toronto FC (7:30 p.m. ET / TICKETS)

As Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter put it after the match, Crew SC "did everything but score" against the Dynamo. The Black & Gold dominated possession and out-shot its opponent 18-8, but couldn't beat a Herculean effort by Dynamo 'keeper Tyler Deric. Crew SC hosts Toronto FC this weekend, looking for retribution for last season's Trillium Cup sweep by the Reds.

8. Montreal Impact - 0 pts. | 1-0 loss at D.C. United, this week: BYE

Riding high from its CONCACAF Champions League triumph earlier in the week, the Impact couldn't find an equalizer at RFK Stadium -- but the bigger loss is losing Justin Mapp to injury versus D.C. United. Montreal has Week Two off as it faces Alajuelense in CCL play on March 18.

9. Chicago Fire - 0 pts. | 2-0 loss at LA Galaxy, this week: vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC

Going into the defending MLS Cup champs' home stadium to open the season is never an easy task, and Chicago found that out with a 2-0 loss on Friday. Frank Yallop's side will hope for better fortunes at home versus Vancouver this week.

10. New England Revolution - 0 pts. | 3-0 loss at Seattle Sounders FC, this week: at NYCFC

Without its two most influential players in Jermaine Jones and Lee Nguyen, the odds were stacked against the Revs at Seattle in Week One as they fell to Sounders FC, 3-0. This week will present a different challenge, playing against NYCFC in the club's Yankee Stadium debut.
