The Second Round of matches in the 2014 NCAA men's soccer tournament took place yesterday. Here's how CSA alums fared:
Ohio State/Notre Dame
The Buckeyes and the top-seeded Fighting Irish squared off in the Second Round, with the quartet of Notre Dame CSA alums defeating the five on Ohio State's roster by a 2-1 final. Connor Klekota and Blake Townes started for the Irish, with Oliver Harris making a substitute appearance. For Ohio State, Kyle Culbertson, Tyler Kidwell, Zach Mason and Hunter Robertson all started, with Robertson providing the assist on the Buckeyes' lone goal.
Notre Dame now advances to face Virginia in the Third Round.
Georgetown
David Witkoff's Hoyas defeated Old Dominion 2-1 to advance to the Third Round, where they will meet Syracuse. Witkoff made a substitute appearance in the match.
Xavier
The Muskeeters upset fifth-seeded Indiana to advance to the Third Round, beating the Hoosiers by a 2-1 scoreline. Will Walker (pictured) scored the game-winning goal in the 74th minute as Eric Osswald again went the distance in net for Xavier, earning the victory. Additionally, Rhodes Moore and Matt Hill each started the match.
Xavier next plays 12th-seeded Creighton in the Third Round.
Michigan State
The Spartans were victorious over Oakland in the Second Round by a 1-0 final. Jimmy Fiscus and Ken Krolicki were each starters for Michigan State, which next plays Washington in the Third Round.
Maryland
Fourth-seeded Maryland was upset by UMBC, 1-0, in the Second Round. Alex Crognale played the full match for the Terrapins, notching one shot.

The Third Round of games features the final 16 teams in the tournament, with matches kicking-off on November 30. CSA has representatives on four of the remaining squads.
