The Montreal Impact remain on top of the Eastern Conference after the first 17 weeks of the 2013 MLS Season. Six teams are within five points of each other as the focus begins to shift on the playoff race in the Eastern Conference.
This is how the East looks like following Week 17's matches.
1. Montreal Impact - 29 pts. - Week 17: 2-0 Win vs. Houston Dynamo
The first-place Impact rebounded from last week's road loss in Columbus with a convincing 2-0 victory against the Houston Dynamo. Tied for the Budweiser Golden Boot lead with 10 goals, Marco Di Vaio and Montreal welcome the Colorado Rapids to Stade Saputo in Week 18.
2. Philadelphia Union - 25 pts. - Week 17: 3-0 Win vs. New York Red Bulls
For the second consecutive match, the Union unloaded for three goals and Jack McInerney's name was absent from the scoresheet to move into second place on the Eastern Conference table. Philadelphia will look to keep things rolling at PPL Park as it hosts FC Dallas on June 29.
3. New York Red Bulls - 25 pts. - Week 17: 3-0 Loss at Philadelphia Union
Following a 22-day break from MLS play, the Red Bulls looked rusty in Sunday's loss to the Union and Lloyd Sam's first-half red card made matters worse. Up next, New York hosts the Houston Dynamo on June 30.
4. Houston Dynamo - 23 pts. - Week 17: 2-0 Loss at Montreal Impact, 0-0 Draw vs. Toronto FC
First-half mistakes spelled doom for the Dynamo in its midweek clash with the Montreal Impact, losing 2-0. In weekend action, Houston couldn't find the back of the net against Toronto FC despite Brad Davis' return to the lineup. The Dynamo travels to the East Coast for a Sunday tilt with the New York Red Bulls in Week 18.
5. Sporting Kansas City - 23 pts. - Week 17: 2-2 Draw at FC Dallas
Sporting earned a road point in Dallas as it welcomed Graham Zusi and Matt Besler back from U.S. Men's National Team duty. Kansas City hosts the Crew on Saturday at Sporting Park (8:30 p.m. ET / FOX Sports Ohio).
6. Columbus Crew - 20 pts. - Week 17: 2-1 Loss vs. Chicago Fire
The Crew continues to struggle to find consistency as it dropped points at home to the Chicago Fire. The Black & Gold kick-off a treacherous three-game run against Sporting Kansas City, the LA Galaxy and Portland Timbers FC with a visit to Sporting Park on Saturday.
7. New England Revolution - 20 pts. - Week 17: Idle
The Revolution had the week off ahead of road matches against D.C. United in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and a visit to Chivas USA in MLS play.
8. Chicago Fire - 18 pts. - Week 17: 2-1 Win vs. Colorado Rapids, 2-1 Win at Columbus Crew
Mike Magee hasn't skipped a beat since joining the Fire from the LA Galaxy, scoring in every match he's played for the Men in Red as Chicago beat the Colorado Rapids and Columbus Crew in Week 17. The Fire hosts Orlando City SC in the Open Cup with a break from MLS competition in Week 18.
9. Toronto FC - 12 pts. - Week 17: 0-0 Draw at Houston Dynamo
The Reds picked up points for the second-straight match with a scoreless draw in Houston. Up next, Toronto hosts Real Salt Lake at BMO Field.
10. D.C. United - 9 pts. - Week 17: 1-0 Win vs. San Jose Earthquakes
United secured a victory for the first time since March 9 as Chris Pontius' first-half converted penalty was the difference against the San Jose Earthquakes. The Black-and-Red look to keep momentum going with a U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinal clash with the New England Revolution on Wednesday before hosting Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday.
