The Black & Gold has six players up for consideration for the 2012 MLS All-Star Gamein Philadelphiaon July 25. Here are the candidates and why you should vote for them:


Candidate:
GK Andy Gruenebaum -
Why should you vote for him:

  • Leads MLS with 51 saves
  • Leads MLS in save percentage (78%) Recorded
  • Earned Save of the Week honors for Week 11
  • Team of the Week for Weeks 11 and 12
  • He's the Hebrew Hammer.


Candidate:
DF Sebastián Miranda -
Why you should vote for him:

  • Only defender to start every match for the Black & Gold this season
  • Recorded just six fouls in 1038 minutes played this season
  • He scored on a header from 20+ yards out to beat FC Dallas on May 12.


Candidate: DF Chad Marshall -
Why you should vote for him:

  • Before his injury in early May, Marshall anchored the Crew defense
  • Captained the Crew through the first seven matches of the season
  • Two-time MLS Defender of the Year
  • Two-time MLS Best XI
  • Eclipsed 200 games played for the Crew earlier this season


Candidate: MF Milovan Mirosevic -
Why you should vote for him:

  • Primarily an attacking player, the Chilean has been an outstanding two-way player for the Black & Gold in his first MLS season.
  • Scored his first MLS goal 3/24 vs. Montreal
  • Has been a field general for his new team in 2012


Candidate: MF Eddie Gaven -
Why you should vote for him:

  • Leads the Crew with three goals
  • MLS Team of the Week for week seven
  • Along with Gruenebaum and Miranda, he's the only player to start every game for the Black & Gold
  • He has the best beard in MLS.


Candidate: F Emilio Rentería -
Why you should vote for him:

  • The Venezuelan has two goals and one assist this season.
  • MLS Team of the Week for week 12
  • MLS Player of the Week for week 12
